Sugar

Sugar is a great exfoliant. Gently sloughs away dead skin cells and reveal smooth, radiant skin. Find scrubs containing sugar, or you can create your own home-based exfoliating sugar.

Mix one part white cane sugar with a separate oil or glycerin. You can add a little aloe vera gel to soothe the skin, and a few drops of essential oil for fragrance.

If the scrub is a little salt, add more liquid until the right consistency.

Nuts

The combination of ground nuts mixed with natural yogurt is a great cleansing facial. Ground nuts can be found in health food stores, but if you do not succeed you can use the food processor to grind nuts ¼ cup and add ¼ cup of plain yogurt. Walnuts have exfoliating properties, while the yogurt is anti-bacterial, which leave your skin clean and fresh.
